Similar/Different ?

Interesting.. two matches between teams that could not be more different, and yet so similar. At the end of this post, I’ve realised that that title is particularly apt for this post.
Wow. An apt title. Rare.

Ind vs Pak. Jamshedpur. 1-dayer.
A match that could have been won by the losers. Seriously. One team showing how to maintain consistency in an innings, and then how to sizzle that fat in the fire. The other, collapsing meekly. God knows why.
319 ? So what ? It’s possible. Unless you decide that after two young players get out, the rest of a team with batsmen reknowned cannot win. Crap.
A man with 10,000 test runs under his belt could not show us even a spark of what got him those. A man who has won more matches for India as captain than any other, offers slip catching practice. Then, a bowler, out of form, scores a half-century.
I don’t get it. You can analyze it to kingdom come, and not reach satisfactory conclusions.

WI vs SA. Port of Spain. 5-dayer.
Brian Lara. That’s it. He’s got the 10,000 now. With a century to boot. 159 out of 281. You figure out who’s playing here.
And of course, as always a lone warrior against a South African team that’s lost that spark, that defined them less than 2 years ago.
I don’t get this either.

Don’t ask me what the similarity was. There was one, you might see it.

Also, apparently, Gandhi is a fad again for those Bollywood guys. Talk of colonial hangovers. Yea, both these topics have been ringing around since then.

I don’t get why again.
